also said to contain many monoterpenoids (carvone, cineole, and fenchone), as well as ursolic
acids, including apiagone and flavonoids (spigen and farnesol).
Basil leaf and seed in aqueous extract have been proven and published to increase the levels
of T‐helper cells (Vasudevan, Kashyap, & Sharma, 1999). Natural Killer (NK) Cells are
lymphocytes in the same family as T and B cells, the titer cells (known for antibiotic
concentration of blood) have been observed to increase with the with the use of basil extracts
(Pattanayak et al. 2010; Jamshidi & Cohen, 2017).
The uses in oncological studies indicate that Ursolic acid inhibits the growth of HSV3 and
HIV4 as well as tumour development (Biggs et al. 2001). The juices/nectar and constituents
of OB have an extensive range of antiviral and antiradical properties, too. A series of plant
based tulsi hydroxyquinones, including vaccine, Ursolic acid, hydroquinone 3 was proven
effective in an analysis of SARS‐2 protease docking (O. Trottier et al., 2020).
vii. Garlic (Allium sativum)
Asia is known for the origin of garlic but its extensive use can be found in major cuisines like
China, Africa and Europe. L-the lanthanide is an amino acid that has been in used as a
medicine for thousands of years. It usually grows to between 25–70cm in height and bears
edible flowers and leaves used as a spice and flavourings in foodstuffs. It possesses nutrients,
enhances the flavour of food, and aids in digestion. Because of its wide range of
pharmacological benefits, along with minimal toxicity, garlic is widely used as anthelminal,
anti-inflammatory, and antifungal (Alam, Hoq, & Uddin, 2016).
Garlic aliases have been studied for wide‐antiviral and microbial properties and are
established to contain alliin as a catalyst. This declining virucidal order of compounds
includes ajoene, allyl-allic ester, and allyl methylallyl sulphide (Gebreyohannes &
Gebreyohannes, 2013). The antimicrobial effect of garlic extract has been studied in cell
culture with influenza A/H1N and it was shown to reduce viral replication and growth While
an inhibitor of IBV‐a coronavirus was found in garlic, the garlic extract showed no inhibitory
effect on poultry sepsis (Sadri et al., 2016).
viii. Neem (Azadirachta indica)
This plant, sometimes known as Azadiracta indica, is a member of the Meliaceae family.
Neem, which is from India, has been used for many kinds of illness over thousands of years
in various parts of Asia and Africa. The roots, leaves, buds, and bark of the neem tree have
