Such reduction was maximum in the shoot system (53.68%) and in the root system (44.11%)
(Table 2 and 3).
Glucose dehydrogenase
Due to nematode infection, the activity of GDH was observed to be reduced both in
the root and shoot system. Such reduction was 55.09% in root and 58.87% in shoot systems.
It was observed that maximum reduction was in the shoot system. The statistical analysis of
critical difference at 5&1% reveal that the nematode infections have a great influence on the
host plant. (Table 2 and 3). The Statistical analysis of the student‘t- test, the nematode
infection significantly influences the enzyme activities.(Table 4).
Total chlorophyll
Due to nematode infection, the total chlorophyll content in the shoot system of the
host plant was observed to be reduced. It was reduced by 13.02% compared to its respective
CUI plant. It is also observed that the individual chlorophyll content also reduced. The
chlorophyll a is reduced by25.36% and chlorophyll-b is reduced to14.51%.
