CONCLUSION
In the sanctuary Shorea robusta and Carey aarborea are considered climatic climax. The
sites studied in the sanctuary are not so much rich in associated species that this may be due
to the anthropogenic pressure imposed on the sanctuary by the residents of the marginal
villages. Distribution of different vegetation layers of the sanctuary uncovered a heterogenous
nature of vegetation on showing almost unstable population in these areas.Analysis of the
distribution pattern of different vegetation layers of the sanctuary is contiguous. In a
community each species has its own ecological amplitude and its distribution is determined
by the communication between physical and biological environments.
In the present study, the vegetation of the sanctuary in all the layers of the vegetation is
characterized by the preponderance of contiguous distribution. The general preponderanceof
nearbydistribution in natural vegetationis also in accordance with Mishra et al.(A. Mishra,
2007)and Mohanty et al. (Mohanty et al., 2005). According toOdum, nearbydistributions is
commonest in nature, haphazard distribution is found only in very uniform environment and
regular distribution occurs where severe competition exists between individuals(Odum &
Barrett, 1971). However, nearby distribution depends on local habitat difference, daily and
seasonal weather changes and reproductive processes. The distribution pattern of the
vegetation showed that there was no severe competition among the species. Moreover,
uniform environment is also absent, which confirms absence of random and regular type of
distribution pattern.
Needless to say, that, disturbance indicators are important limitation to study the
exteriorpressure on the community and serve as the markers for denudation of forest stands.
Revealation of these will go long way to serve in the conservation strategy which needs to be
unique and essentially different for a sanctuary. The forest authorities may impose ban on the
misuse of these species to save life support process and ecological turn over in a forest
community. But it does not mean that the strategy for conservation should not be included for
