Uses Value of Plants
Among the recorded plant species, 229 were medicinal, 190 were ornamental plants,
64 edible plants, 7 cash crops, 6 timber yielding plant and the others 7 are miscellaneous.

Medicinal Plants
Plants have played a critical role in maintaining human health. About 46% of the cited
plants shows medicinal properties and the findings of this study revealed that medicinal
plants exhibited maximum diversity. They are used to treat wide range of ailments including
skin diseases, infectious diseases, diabetes, wounds, kidney stones, fever and many other
diseases. Recent studies showed that Traditional medicines obtained several plants are used
to maintain the primary health care. Aloe vera, Azadirachta indica, Ocimum tenuiflorum,
Justicia adhatoda, Bacopa monnieri, Lawsonia inermis, Centella asiatica, Eclipta prostrata,
Plectranthus amboinicus, Hemigraphis colorata, Calotropis gigantea and Clitoria ternatea,
are important examples for high use-value plant species. All informants claimed their use for
medicinal purposes.
Ornamental Plants
Ornamental plants are grown for decorative purposes, cut flower production,
landscape designing and in gardens. Besides, ornamental plants play important role in human
