"Hans Raj Mahila Vidyalaya cliched the 'A' division Overall Championship Trophy in the women's section during the 39th Annual Sports Prize Distribution of Guru Nanak Dev University.... HMV won the top honours by scoring 157 points in the womens section."

"The sports women of HMV took part in 38 championships and not only won the overall trophy, but beat its previous record. The college participated in 38 disciplines of games, of which it won 22 shampionships. HMV bagged 10 Runners Up positions, and 5 Second Runners Up positions in different inter-college championships held last year. HMV Principal J. Kackeria said the girls gave a tough competition to the other colleges affiliated to the university.

'Our girls bagged the gold medals at the all-india level in football, kabaddi, softball, hockey, athletics and yoga. Besides these, 15 girls have won gold medals at the national levels, while 23 students have won at the all-india university level', she added. "

► 20-20 GIRL -- HARMANPREET OF BA-I SELECTED TO REPRESENT INDIAN TEAM FOR WORLD CUP WOMEN CRICKET

"HAMANPREET of BA-I of HMV, was selected to represent India team for World Cup Women Cricket held at Australia from February 28 to March 10. She participated in the first 20-20 World Cup Women Cricket Championship held in England this month."

►COLLEGE WINS GNDU OVERALL YOUTH FESTIVAL TROPHY 2009

  Our young artists won accolades in the GNDU Inter Zonal Youth Festival held at Amritsar. It was indeed a moment of pride and jubiliation when the budding artists of our institution lifted the Overall Championship Trophy in GNDU Inter zonal Youth Festival at Amritsar. Our college a won 4 trophies out of 5  ,which includes Literary Trophy, Fine Arts Trophy, Folk Trophy and Theatre Trophy. We bagged the First position in 9 items, Second position in 11 items and Third in 4 items. 

►COLLEGE WINS GNDU YOUTH FESTIVAL SPORTS TROPHY 2009

  Our sportsmen won accolades in the GNDU Inter Zonal Youth Festival held at Amritsar.  

►FASHION DESIGNING & H.Sc DEPTT. ACTIVITIES

 • 13th Aug 08 - Rakhi masking competition was held in the Fashion Design Deptt.

• 18 Aug 08- Talent hunt competition was held in H.Sc Deptt Rangoli, fresh and dry flower arrangement were the items for the competition.

• Industrial visit to knitting industry “OSTER KNITWEARS” Ludhiana was taken on detailed procedure of knitting technology.

• DIWALI EVE -Exhibition cum sale was arranged by the F.D. students on the eve of diwali. Different decorative items were exhibited in it.

• 29th and 30th Sept 2008 - A report on UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Trends in Modern Sciences” and an integrated workshop on “Techniques in Tissue Culture “held on 29th and 30th Sept 2008.

►ZOOLOGY DEPTT ORGANIZED FOLLOWING EVENTS

 •26th Aug 08 -ONE DAY SEMINAR on “Threat of Pandemic Influenza”

One day Seminar on “Threat of Pandemic Influenza” was organized On 26th Aug 08, Dr Rupinder Kanwar and Dr harjinder Singh from NRDDl provide Knowledge of infections disease “Bird flu” and its possibility of transmission to man was preceded , Protective Measure to present the spread of disease was also demonstrated.

 • 11 aug-2008 - One day exhibition. Theme “ Potentials of Zoology”

One day exhibition (11 aug-2008) – Theme “ Potentials of Zoology”, Emphasis was on Various aspects of the Subject Concerning man and animals ,displayed through models and charts . This exhibits was:

A. System of Human body and its functions, B. Diseases and Human defense System , C. Importance of Organ Donation , Blood – Donation , Blood Group Detection, D. Ban – “Female Foeticide”, E. Evolution of life , F. Zoology and Palmistry .
